Designers Notes:

Playing.

A vital element of growing up.

This page is devoted to identifying games and exercises that are fun, engaging, nonviolent, and even educational.

If this list seems short, shame on us adults for not providing our youth with alternatives to violent games.

Yes it can be very engaging to be involved in a computer simulation of mortal combat with the enemy.

It can also be engaging to be involved in a computer simulation of life like conflicts where nonviolent choices can mean the difference between life and death.

Page Design Guidelines / Scope: This page is intended to include all forms of youth "play" with an emphasis on technology - including computer games & exercises, video games, videotapes, DVDs, movies, music, TV programs, Cable & Satellite Programs, board games, puzzles, as well as good books. This page of the Web Site is designed to help young people celebrate their youth, to have fun, to play, and to be entertained.
The only boundary is that the form of play focus on nonviolence - there are more than enough violent alternatives for our youth everywhere they turn.
